  When I headed to my polling place @ 7 a.m. I entered the 21st century, finally. It seems like here in Pittsburgh, and Allegheny County for that matter, the future never catches up with us until it's already passed us by. Not now. Electronic voting machines, ones that resembled the video games I played as a kid, greeted me, as did the usual threesome of polling place volunteers I see every year. Keeping with tradition I mooched a couple of doughnuts from the box of Krispy Kremes always on hand (they used to get Dunkin Donuts but made the switch a couple of years ago) I had a cup of coffee as I b.s.'d a bit and waited for 7 o'clock to vote. The polling volunteers always ask about my last name, they ask if I am related to so-and-so and I always answer,
